Mother's Day

I originally began this post on Sunday evening. I didn't like the way it turned out, so I deleted it and started again. So here goes.......

This Mother's Day was absolutely wonderful. I realize every day more and more how blessed I have been in my life. I was raised in a loving home, which included and fantastic mom. I married a wonderful man that has given me the greatest loves of my life, my two sons. And although I am not perfect, I try to be the mother God has wanted me to be. This mother's day that included being part of the baby dedication at our Church. It was so awesome to stand on stage with all of those parents dedicating our children to being raised in Christ. (One of the girls on stage with me, I delivered back in February). And it was even more so wonderful because Mike got to be a part of it with me (Thank you Judy for working for him those few hours).

During the dedication a lot of things get said, but my favorite was the prayer Glen said right toward the end.

Heavenly Father, take us back to the moment when this child came into the world. Make us awestruck once again at the privilege the Creator grants us-the privilege of creating life. And remind us that You trust us enough to train and lead this young life in such a way that they will honor and serve You for all of life. Father, like Hannah we bring our child to You. Like Hannah, help us to regularly petition You on their behalf. Like Hannah, help up to feel our pleasure through this young life. Like Hannah, may we see our children grow up to honor and serve You for all of life. Amen.

So simple, but so profound.

Of course that was just the beginning of my day. The joy of having a toddler means having something said to you over and over again. Most of the time is just grates on my nerves, but this day it was different. Ryan was full of hugs and kisses , I love yous, and, "Happy mother's day" all day long. The best part came last night at bedtime. After our nite nite prayers I was telling Ryan how much I loved him and proud I am to be his mommy. Then just so adult like, he rolled over to face me and said, "And I'm proud to be your son" My eyes welled up with tears and my heart just swelled with pride. As imperfect as I am, I must have done something right this far. It was a moment I shall not soon forget.

Of course I have to post pics of ny gifts made at daycare. Ryan brought me a plant to put in the yard, and Alex gave me a hand print. It amazes me how big his hands are at just 7 months.

Love to you all

Sweetest pieces

They say there's nothing worth stealing more than a kiss from a sleeping baby. It is so true, especially with this one. Just look at those lips and chubby little feet. How sweet is that?

100% cute

I found the cutest onesie the other day and had to put it on Alex after bath the other night. Then I gave him to Mike to hold while I finished Ryan's bath. He was watching WKRP in Cincinnati on that new Hulu.com. Evidently Alex is no fan of WKRP.

It's hard to believe that Alex will be 7 months old this Friday. Time just seems to pass me by between the activities of daily life and work. Now that the mini is over and I won't have to devote as much time to the gym as I had, I can spend a little more time with the boys. I took this picture this afternoon after lunch. He just sat up and smiled--posing like all good babies do. I have a video too that I'll try to add as well.

I DID IT

My first big race shirt and finisher's medal!!

I really did it. I finished my first mini marathon!! It took a lot longer than I would've wanted, but at least I know my body can do it. I have never been so grateful to see a finish line in my life. I almost cried I was so happy to be done. Next year (maybe) I am going to try to run the whole thing. I have to say though miles 3-6 through Iroquois park are some of the hardest hills I've ever climbed. But then again, we don't have hills like that around here. Enough rambling--I DID IT!!!!

Tonight after bath time, Ryan decided we needed to take some pictures. I took a few and then Ryan got the camera. I guess you can tell who took the pics--especially the ones with the stuffed animals (those are all that are left after I put the rest in storage bags).

okay--only 5 1/2 months after halloween my son decided to put on his costume. Better late than never I said. I'm hoping he can still fit into it this October. He'd better because I won't be buying another!!!!
