Snow

I also wanted to show pics of how beautiful it was outside this morning. Too bad the boys were sick and we couldn't go out and enjoy it building a snowman. Oh well--there will be plenty more in the future.

Talking

This afternoon after we all had a great nap ( a couple of hours for the three of us) Ryan sat down to watch something on cartoon network. Alex was all about it talking non-stop. Too cute not to post. Plus he's had a couple of bottle of formula (small ones of course) and has kept them down. Although now Ryan woke up complaining of a tummy ache, but I think it might have something to do with the pizza I ordered from Dominos for lunch. It wasn't long after I ate it that my belly didn't feel too good either. That's the last thing he needs now.

sick boys

If it's not bad enough that one gets sick, baby Alex got a GI bug. I knew last Friday when I picked him up it was mentioned that some of the babies were sick. I assumed since we made it through the weekend we were okay. NOT SO MUCH!!! Alex started throwing up Monday night and had diarrhea as well. Needless to say I've washed my hands hundreds of times and used germx until my hands are almost raw.

This morning (Wednesday) both boys appear to be feeling better. Ryan is playing and Alex is taking plenty of pedialyte and keeping it down. Thank heavens for my friend Michelle. She was getting out to the grocery this morning and picked up a few things for me so I wouldn't have to get the boys out in the cold and snow. What a blessing.

Anyway--we're still contemplating Memphis. I'm going to see hoe the next 24 go to decide. Keep us in your prayers

The flu

It has reached our household. The Flu. Unfortunately I blew it off for the past few days when Ryan would cough a little and say, "I don't feel so well" He would smile and go on about his merry way. Well, I guess I should've listened a little more closely. I just thought he wanted attention since I'm with Alex so much. Well around midnight Sunday night (I had been asleep for about 1 1/2 hours--he rolled over and touched my face--ON FIRE!!!. I felt so badly for him--101.6. By morning he was crying because his head hurt so badly and he didn't want to walk or move. "Mommy carry me" Now my back is tight from carrying around this 41 lb big boy, but it won't last forever. I just hope he gets better soon enough for us to travel to Memphis for Jon and Ashley's wedding. I guess we'll take in one day at a time.

cutie patootie baby

Sunday afternoons

Weekends are always interesting at the Phillips household. Sunday afternoons are usually the most fun after Church, lunch, and usually a nap. Yesterday was no exception. Ryan had taken a three hour nap (yes that's 3 hours!!) and was full of energy. As busy as he is it's always entertaining. He wanted to take pictures and then he didn't. Alex didn't really care one way or the other, but was happy to smile nonetheless.

the feet

Alex has found his feet. I was getting ready to change a diaper when he began grabbing and not letting go. It's so fun to watch them explore. (He's also found other parts of which I will not capture on film!!!)

animals

Ryan loves animals--that is pretty evident by the amount you see around the house. The bathtub is no exception. He would spend hours in there if I let him just creating all sorts of games and scenarios. What an imagination!!!

Finger fix fussies

Ryan was never much for pacifiers when he was a baby. As luck would have it, neither is Alex. He just likes his fingers. No matter how fussy he appears to be, he can put a few fingers in his mouth and soothe himself to sleep. I don't know which is worse, pacifiers or fingers, but as far as I am concerned right now it doesn't matter.

Look what I can do

Also today Alex realized he could pull on a toy and make noise. I was at the dining room table with Ryan making valentine cards for his teachers when I heard the noise. When I looked over I saw Alex hanging on to his toy for dear life. It was so cute. Then he tried to roll over. He made it about half way. It won't be long I'm sure. When he's on his belly he tries to pull his knees up like he wants to crawl--OH NO NOT YET!!!!

Big boy

Now that we're at the 4 month mark, it's time to really begin feeding. We've been trying cereal--he's not so excited about it. We tried applesauce this morning, yet again--not so excited. Oh well--he's cute in his high chair anyway. Of course big brother had to get in on the action when I got out the camera. Imagine that!!! Such a camera hog when he wants to be.

Growing Boy

Today Alex went for his 4 month check-up. He was a whopping 14lbs 6 oz and 25 1/4 inches. Just a smidge bigger than Ryan was at this age (14lbs 3 oz and 25in). He's so fussy now from his shots but hopefully giving him a little Tylenol will help.

Granny and Aunt Susan stopped by last night for a visit on their way to West Virginia today. For those of you who read and aren't family they were going to watch my little cousin sign to play for Purdue in the fall. He was actually recruited last year, and now as a senior is able to sign. Anyway--we had a really great visit and the boys were excited. Ryan had gotten a new view finder with dinosaurs in it so he was wild.

More Blessings

I follow many blogs day in and day out. Many have blessed me beyond measure with their testaments of faith. Many more than I feel I could ever have. They have brought me closer to God than I feel I have ever been in my life. I urge everyone to check out the blog about Nate and his girls to see the video of him doing Kangaroo care with Gwyneth. And not only that, they're working on papers to put Tricia on the transplant list. Yeah !!!! And just so everyone knows--I am an organ donor. If something happens to me, please, please know this is my wish!!! Please keep this family and the others in your hearts and prayers.
